Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) hosted the International Conference on Environment from Thursday to Saturday (November 15 to 17). The event presented the members of the Center of Collaboration Universities for Environmental Studies (BKPSL) in Indonesia and the administrators of the Association of Environmental Science Study Program (PEPSILI) in order to attend a joint meeting on the Postgraduate Hall of UNP on Friday (November 16).
The leader of the meeting was Prof. Nadiroh (Chairman of Pepsili), Dwi Purwantoro Sasangko (Chairman of BKPLS), and Dr Indang Dewata (Chairman of the Environmental Sciences Postgraduate Program on UNP).
Nadiro assessed that the meetings between members of BKPLS and Pepsili had made a lot of progress. The meeting was well received, because the participants were given the opportunity to make suggestions for the advancement of environmental science in the future.
Prof. Nadiroh stated that Pepsili's presence would contribute to the advancement of environmental science and technology in Indonesia.
"Pepsili is here to contribute to the development of environmental science and technology in order to save the environment in Indonesia," Prof. Nadiroh said.
Meanwhile, Dwi Purwantoro Sasangko revealed that one of the issues which discussed is the request for revision of the Law on Conservation of Natural Resources which must be completed. In addition, the need to equate perceptions regarding the discussion of the draft amdal’s assessment curriculum and changes in some subjects and the technical references were also needed to be discussed.
Furthermore, Dr. Indang Dewata, the Chairman of the Postgraduate of Environmental Science Study Program of UN stated that this event was in a better because of the support of all parties, started from the Rector to the Director of Postgraduate program and other participants.
