Firdaus HB and family became a special guest on the first day of graduation ceremony of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), on Saturday (September, 15). This former chairman of the Surabaya City Gapensi was in line with the group of professors on the way when heading to Auditorium Building of UNP.
On his way from the Rectorate building to the Auditorium building of UNP, Firdaus is taking part in a brief discussion with the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri, and the member of Advisory Council of UNP, Suryadi Asmi, about his contribution on facilitating the plan to award Doctor Honoris Causa to the one of Malaysia's national figures, Anwar Ibrahim.
Firdaus who is also the Chairman of the Minang Maimbau Forum, occupies a VIP seat. After delivering speech, the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri even gave a special tribute to Firdaus who was also the activist of Minang merchant in front of thousands of graduates.
When asked by the reporters, the presence of this businessman is cannot be separated from the graduation of one of his nephews in the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Universitas Negeri Padang.
"I have been able to prove the seriousness of Prof. Ganefri as the Rector of UNP in making a realization on the vision and mission of UNP, namely to be one of the leading universities in Southeast Asia. I hoped that this will be realized in the near future", Firdaus, the figure who is closed to Fahmi Idris said.
