Padang State University Releases Student Contingent For Peksimida 2024

Padang – Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) held a send-off event for the student contingent that will represent the institution in the 2024 Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida). The event, held in the Senate Conference Room, 4th Floor, UNP Rectorate and Research Center, took place on Monday (5/8), and was attended by participating students, university leaders, and UNP academics.

A total of 24 students, who have gone through a rigorous selection process in each faculty, will compete in this art event. Peksimida 2024 will be held at Institut Seni Indonesia Padangpanjang from August 6 to 9, 2024. The UNP contingent consists of representatives from three faculties and is accompanied by 16 supervisors.

In his report, UNP Director of Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Asep Sujana Wahyuri, S.Si., M.Pd, expressed his gratitude and pride for the students who had been selected. “We thank the students who have struggled through a rigorous selection process at the Faculty level. Hopefully this struggle will produce satisfactory results at Peksimida later,” he said.

Vice Rector 1, Dr. Refnaldi, S.Pd., M.Litt., who represented the Rector of UNP, in his speech stated, “Art week is a routine event that we participate in up to the national level. We hope that UNP’s participation can make proud achievements, although competition at the national level will be tighter.” Refnaldi also added that UNP, as a state university with high potential, is committed to giving its best in the event. “If we win, we will continue the struggle to Peksiminas. This is the spirit that we must maintain together,” he said.

The release ceremony was marked by the symbolic giving of team shirts by Vice Rector 1 to student representatives. In addition, the event was also enlivened by the performance of singing talent by several Peksimida participants, which added to the festive and energetic atmosphere.

Also present at the event were the Dean of the Faculty of Language and Arts, Prof. Dr. Ermanto, S.Pd., M.Hum., Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Afriva Khaidir, S.H., M.Hum., MAPA, Ph.D., and Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Psychology and Health, Dr. Ns. Armaita, S.Kep., SKM, M.Si. Also present were Head of Sub-Directorate of Achievement and Alumni Ahmad Rizal Abidin, S.Kom., M.Kom., Head of Sub-Directorate of Student Organization and Welfare Jumargus, S.Pd., as well as supervisors and accompanying lecturers.

With the enthusiasm and full support of the UNP academic community, it is hoped that this student contingent can make the university proud and achieve brilliant achievements in Peksimida 2024.
