UNP KKN Students Develop Coconut Chips Innovation In Nagari Lareh Nan Panjang

Lareh Nan Panjang, July 26, 2024 – Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) students who are members of the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program have created new innovations in the production of coconut chips in Nagari Lareh Nan Panjang. This initiative is part of the KKN program led by the wali korong ampalu which aims to empower the community and improve the local economy.

The UNP students work closely with local residents in every stage of coconut chips production, from raw material selection, processing, to packaging. Through intensive training and guidance, they managed to create efficient production methods and produce high-quality products.

“We are very happy to be able to contribute to the community here,” said Abrar, leader of the KKN group. “Through this program, we not only learned how to make coconut chips, but also how to interact and work together with the community.”

The coconut chips produced have a distinctive flavor and crunchy texture, earning a positive response from the community. In addition, the students also assisted in the search for product marketing through social media and e-commerce platforms, so that the marketing reach is wider.

“We hope that this product can become a new icon of Nagari Lareh Nan Panjang and can increase the community’s income.” 

The KKN program is expected to have a long-term impact on the local community, both in terms of economy and skills improvement. The coconut chips innovation is also expected to inspire other regions to utilize their local potential.
