Universitas Negeri Padang’s 2024 Student Creativity Program-Research Social Humanities (PKM-RSH) team created the IMPULSCARD game which is an innovative monopoly game as an educational tool in reducing impulsive buying behavior in marketplace among high school students in Padang City.

The game by five UNP students, namely Ikelara Aritonang, Salsabila Fajriati Huda, Mey Lani Rudita Lia, Selvia, and Devi Yopita Sipayung, is present as a solution in overcoming the rampant impulsive buying actions when there are free shipping promos, massive discounts, limited edition items, and a very big urge to buy them.

This research activity was carried out in the UNP Psychology Department room on Wednesday (17/7/2024). This research was also accompanied by Mario Pratama, S. Psi., M. A as the supervisor. The subjects in this study were 6 high school students in Padang City, with 3 experimental groups & 3 control groups selected through purposive sampling technique.

It is known that the Impulscard game combines card games and monopoly games. The advantages of the IMPULSCARD game are that it offers an educational and interactive approach by combining educational and entertainment elements when students play, so that students can experience learning conditions in the use of money while playing.

In addition, the IMPULSCARD game arena is also presented in the form of an attractive board game in accordance with current trends. In this IMPULSCARD game set, there is also an experimental module guide and manual book that can be held by the research team before conducting experiments.
