A Follow-Up On International Cooperation With Chulalongkorn University Thailand, Non-Formal Education Study Program Holds International Seminar And Visiting Professor

Padang— Following up on plans for International Collaboration with Chulalongkorn University Thailand, the Department of Non-Formal Education (NFE) of the Faculty of Educational Science (FES) held an International Seminar and Visiting Professor.

This activity lasts two days, from Friday to Saturday/23 to 24 November 2023. Two speakers from Thailand attended this activity: Prof. Wirathep Patumcharoenwattana, Ph.D. and Assistant. Prof. Ravee Chudasring, Ph.D., both are lecturers from the Lifelong Education Department, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University Thailand. The host, Dr. Syur’aini, M.Pd, also attended the seminar.

“I am thrilled to be invited here, and it is an honor for us to teach and exchange information with students and lecturers here. Indonesia and Thailand have relatively similar conditions where traditional communities and the role of religion are the main factors in education. I also invite students here to continue their studies in Chulalongkorn because the Thai Government provides scholarships for students from the ASEAN region. Hopefully, this will be the start of a good collaboration,” said Prof. Wirathep when interviewed by UNP’s Public Relations.

Dr. Ismaniar, M.Pd also emphasized that this will be the beginning of international cooperation: “This is our first step to build international cooperation; the target is that next year we will send students to carry out student exchanges and we will open international classes, this is not just a matter of NFE Department. However, this is our contribution to strengthening our entity and identity as a Nation in international relations.”

The activity was opened by the UNP Rector, which Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Yasri, MS, represented.
