Students of the Department of Non-Formal Education FIP UNP participating in the 2024 Field Work Lecture, initiated the establishment and inauguration of the Murba Community Reading Center located in Nagari Toboh Gadang Timur, SINTOGA District, Padang Pariaman Regency.
The inauguration, which was held on July 23, 2024, was attended by the Head of the Library Division of the Padang Pariaman Regency Library and Archives Office and was opened by the Mayor of Nagari Toboh Gadang Timur, Mr. Roni Saputera.
According to Ilham Abdillah as the coordinator of the Murba Community Reading Hall KKL PNF 2024, this Reading Hall is the answer to the problems in the community This Reading Hall is the answer to problems in society, a good civilization is a civilization born of love and nurtured by knowledge. This is a collective effort for us to encourage our society to solve problems rationally and critically through references in this Reading Center, he said.
Roni Saputera as Wali Nagari Toboh Gadang Timur expressed his gratitude and appreciation to KKL PNF Students We are very grateful to students who have helped the village in developing literacy. With this, Nagari is greatly helped in terms of library procurement which is also the vision of advanced Indonesia and a must for Nagari as the lowest government he said.
In line with that, the Head of the Library Development Division of the Archives and Library Service also gave appreciation A great thing, the building that was originally a Covid-19 post and turned into an ambulance garage, is now transformed by colleagues students into a Community Reading Center. Of course this is something that we will continue to support and the Archives and Library Service is ready to help with 300 books, he said.
