Motivate Students To Be Entrepreneurs, The Eurasia Foundation And Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) Series 9 Present UNPrsquos Entrepreneurship Experts

Padang—Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) conducted its regular weekly agenda, the Eurasia Foundation series 9 public lecture, by promoting a theme “Asia in the Vortex of Global Flow: Challenges and Opportunities for Students” which was successfully held in the Senate Room, 4th Floor, Rectorate Building of Universitas Negeri Padang ( UNP) Wednesday (29/11). The Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality of UNP, Prof. Asmar Yulastri, M.Pd, Ph.D, was invited to give the public lecture in this meeting session. This event was a collaboration between UNP and The Eurasia Foundation and was attended by 150 students within the UNP faculty.

The PIC of Eurasia Foundation UNP, Dr. Nofrion, M.Pd in his speech said that the President of the Eurasia Foundation, Mr. Yoji Sato, was very impressed and give his appreciation to UNP. The academic atmosphere and activeness of UNP students during the public lecture made a special impression on Mr. Yoji Sato.

In this series 9, Prof. Asmar Yulastri, M.Pd., Ph.D. thoroughly explained about the challenges and opportunities for the students as young entrepreneurs. She also mentioned in her lecture that Asia is one of the centers of globalization development. Therefore, the opportunities for the students to become young entrepreneurs are supported by technological developments (access to technology or the internet), market growth such as tourism and creative industries, access to resources and connections. Meanwhile, the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs are  finance, regulations and bureaucracy, also competition.

Throughout the public lecture, which was guided by Efni Cerya, S.Pd.M.Pd.E as a moderator, the students enthusiastically participated in Question and Answer sessions with the experts. This public lecture activity ended with a group photo. (ss/ Public Relations of UNP).
