UNP Holds Workshop On Integration Of Anti-Sexual Violence Values In Courses, Realizing A Violence-Free Campus

Padang – In order to follow up on Permendikbud Number 30 of 2021 and Rector Regulation of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) Number 19 of 2022 concerning Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) in the Higher Education environment, UNP held a Workshop on Integrating Anti-Sexual Violence Values into Compulsory University Courses and Courses in Departments on Wednesday (18/9/2024).

The activity, which was opened by the UNP Rector, represented by the Vice Rector (WR) III Prof. Dr. Ir. Anni Faridah, M.Si. was held at the UNP Hotel & Convention by bringing in the speakers of the UNS PPKS Task Force Prof. Dr. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni M.Si.

In her speech, she revealed that the main task of Higher Education is not only to supply students with knowledge but also to integrate ethics and morals in the teaching and learning process. “Thank you to Prof. Ismi for being willing to come and share her knowledge in the context of preventing violence in the campus environment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the UNP PPKS Task Force Dr. Fatmariza, M.Hum revealed that this activity is one of the efforts of the UNP PPKS task force in creating a safe and comfortable educational environment free from sexual violence.

“The PPKS Task Force has carried out a lot of prevention with various socializations from the beginning since its establishment. Starting from new students, ormawa, UNP employees and campus security and many other parties who play a role in preventing sexual violence in the UNP environment, “he said.

When delivering the material Prof. Ismi revealed that the existence of the PPKS task force is very important in Higher Education considering that Indonesia is currently experiencing an emergency of sexual violence. He further emphasized that the PPKS Task Force plays an important role not only for prevention but also facilitates victims of sexual violence.

It is known that this event was attended by 75 lecturers in the UNP Environment. This event carries the theme of Building an Academic Culture that Cares about efforts to prevent various violence in Higher Education (Utr / UNP Public Relations)
