Visiting Study 30 Students And 3 Lecturers Of Tourism FPP UNP To Taylors University Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, October 10, 2024 – Field Course Activities (MKL) of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) students in Malaysia entered the third day with the main visit to Taylor’s University, after previously exploring Malaysian tourist destinations, and activities at the Malaysia Tourism Center (MaTiC).  The activity was directly guided by Dr. Yuliana, S.P., M.Si, as the coordinator of the Master of Tourism and lecturer in charge of field courses, accompanied by FPP Leaders in this case represented by WD 2, Feri Ferdian, S.ST, M.M., Ph.D., CHE and guided by Hendri Azwar, SST, M.Par, Ph.D from TH Travel UNP as well as Lecturer in Hospitality Management Study Program.

The purpose of the visit to Taylor’s University is to find out the Diploma, S1, S2, and S3 Tourism lecture system, curriculum system, student admission system, and explore further study opportunities and get information about scholarships available at this renowned institution.

During the visit, students were introduced to the various Diploma, S1, and postgraduate study programs offered, especially in the field of tourism and hospitality, the lecture system which is conducted offline and online and for the Doctoral Program by research.  Taylor’s University representatives explained that the university has an excellent reputation, top 251 in the world and top 50 in Asia, as well as various international partnerships that support academic and career development. Through collaboration with France both in learning, as well as student and lecturer research.

In addition, students also received detailed information about various types of scholarships, such as merit scholarships, LPDP and international scholarships, which are designed to help international students pursue their education at Taylor’s University. Speakers from the university explained the scholarship requirements and application process, providing new hope for students who aspire to continue their studies abroad.

With this activity, students of Padang State University, especially from Tourism and Hospitality, can see firsthand the academic climate, an overview of lectures so that students can have an overview with international standardized quality and provide impact and innovation in the development of learning, especially in FPP later. The activity at Taylor’s University ended with an exchange of souvenirs.
