Department Of State Administration Receives Collaboration Faculty Visit From BUMN PT. Indonesian Railways

Located in the Discussion Room of the Department of State Administration Sciences (Faculty of Social Sciences/UNP) UNP, they received a collaborative visit from one of the BUMNs operating in the Transportation Sector, PT. Indonesian Railways (KAI) Regional Division II. The presence of the KAI management group led by Eko Tjahjono, PT KAI Divre II Goods Transportation Manager, and his staff, namely Arif Gusman, Andrey Muharram and Azumardi Azra were received directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Afriva Khaidir, SH, M.Hum, MAPA, Ph.D accompanied by the Head of the Department of State Administration Science (IAN), Dra. Fitri Eriyanti, M.Pd, Ph.D. and Head of the IAN Lab, Rahmadani Yusran, S.Sos, M.Si and the lecturer who initiated this collaboration, Dr. Zikri Alhadi, S.IP, M.A.

The Dean of FIS UNP said in various ways that UNP, especially the Faculty of Social Sciences, supports the implementation of collaboration between the IAN Department and PT. KAI and will later discuss all other relevant departments at FIS UNP. Furthermore, the Dean of FIS UNP said that socially and socially, he supports the development of railway transportation, especially how to revitalize and reactivate the railway lines that once existed and were successful in West Sumatra. If this is realized, it will support economic, social, cultural and tourism development in West Sumatra, creating prosperity for the community.

The Dean of FIS UNP will provide support in terms of research for feasibility studies and for developing a train service system to meet public/community needs. This was supported by the Head of the IAN Department, who said that, including the entire academic community, he was ready to make this happen with various collaborative activities which would later be managed by the Head of the IAN Lab and a team who were ready to provide support so that the implementation ran optimally.

Meanwhile, Eko Tjahjono, Manager of Goods Transportation at PT KAI Divre II, said that this collaboration plan started from the desire to provide mutual benefits between PT. KAI with partners, especially UNP, which collaborates between the world of practitioners and academics. Moreover, PT. KAI plans to develop rail transportation in West Sumatra, including reactivating existing routes. The hope is that it can contribute to developing economic and social mobility in society. For this reason, support is needed from all parties, including campus circles, with expertise and studies that will enable policymakers to have strong data to implement the development plan.

Following up on the results of this meeting, Dr. Zikri Alhadi said that shortly he would design a more detailed cooperation framework and serve as a reference for its implementation. Points of cooperation submitted for immediate follow-up include applied partnership research collaboration, collaborative and integrated student internships, practitioner lecturers, and support for expert studies for the development of rail transportation in West Sumatra and its surroundings.
