UNP Collaborates With Five Australian Universities To Improve The Quality Of Teacher Education

For three days from October 21 to 23, 2024, Universitas Negeri Padang participated in the Follow-up Workshop of the Indonesia-Australia Teacher Education Consortium in Surabaya. UNP Vice Rector IV, Dr. rer.nat. Deski Beri, M. Si represented UNP in this activity together with the UNP SPs PPG Study Program Coordinator, Dr. Andromeda, M.Si. Also attending the activity which was attended by 10 selected LPTK in Indonesia was the Chairperson of the UNP KPGIA / PIC Team, Dr. Nofrion, M. Pd who is the Head of the Sub Directorate of Learning Innovation and MBKM, Directorate of Academic, UNP.

UNP WR IV, Deski Beri said that this activity was very strategic in an effort to increase UNP’s collaboration with universities abroad to support UNP’s WCU program. The five Australian universities that are UNP partners are Deakin University, University of Newcastel, University Adelaide, Western Sydney University and Central Queensland Universty.  SPs UNP PPG Study Program Coordinator, Andromeda added that the existence of this KPGIA is useful for improving the quality of learning and the quality of human resources both lecturers, student teachers and UNP PPG tenders. 

Nofrion as the head of the KPGIA Team appointed by the UNP Rector explained that this activity was a follow-up to the proposal that UNP had submitted to the ministry and competed with public and private LPTK in Indonesia. After passing the review and selection process at the center, UNP together with nine LPTK in Indonesia finally became members of KPGIA. The ten LPTK members of KPGIA are UNP, UPI, USD, UNS, UM, UNIMA, UNJ, UNESA, UMM and UNIMED.
