PADANG – The new year of hijrah is related to sustainability in life, including sustainability at Universitas Negeri Padang by evaluating and producing changes for sustainability.
This was stated by the Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang, Krismadinata, Ph.D. in his remarks at the Subuh Mubarak activity which was held offline on Friday (12/7) at the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque, UNP Air Tawar Padang Campus and online through a zoom meeting. The Subuh Mubarak activity on Friday morning was organized by the Faculty of Sports Science (FIK), Universitas Negeri Padang.
The Subuh Mubarak activity which is held every Friday morning was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector, Head of Institution, Head of Bureau, Head of UPT, Dean, Vice Dean, Head of Department, Coordinator of Study Program, lecturers, educational staff and academic community of Padang State University.
In his remarks, Rector Ir. Krismadinata, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation and thanked Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd. for being available as a speaker at the Subuh Mubarak activity at the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque, UNP Air Tawar Padang Campus.
Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd. in his lecture with the topic “The Meaning of Hijrah in the Present Day” explained that it can be understood that the journey of the great Prophet Muhammad Saw hijrah from the country of his birth, the city of Mecca to the city of Medina, which in his efforts was also boycotted in various aspects such as the economic boycott.
Furthermore, Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd. conveyed that the blessings of Islam would not exist at this time if in the past the Prophet Muhammad agreed to the seduction of the Quraysh so that he would no longer preach and no longer spread Islam.
“The Hijrah of the Prophet and his companions also reminds us of the passage of time and at the same time also reminds us of death,” explained Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd.
On that occasion Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd. also explained that hijrah also means that we have to leave an environment that is no longer good and move to a better environment for life because the environment is very influential on our lives.
“Hijrah also means and teaches that we must choose a strong determination and have the courage for change. When making changes, we will definitely face challenges and tests,” said Ustaz Muharlion, S.Pd.
